Ready to wander like a star on set? We’ve got the magic of Hollywood right here in the U.K. and are excited to share some of our favourite places to visit that bring the shows and movies we love to life.
Wicked
The smash Broadway hit turned blockbuster film Wicked starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo was filmed in several locations just outside London. It became the very first production filmed at Sky Studios Elstree in Borehamwood, a new state-of-the-art 12 sound stage facility. While not open to the public, other filming spots are beautiful for browsing. The small village of Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire, provided the idyllic scenery for Munchkinland, constructed on a remote farm. And a visit to beautiful Seven Sisters Country Park on England’s southern shores will allow you to catch a glimpse of where filmmakers shot the iconic pink sailing boat featured in the film.

Bridgerton
The charming and historic city of Bath is a top place to visit in the U.K. We love it for the fact it is home to many Bridgerton filming sites! The hit Netflix show captivates audiences not only with its sexy plots and steamy characters, but a magnificent setting throughout.
At No. 1 Royal Crescent, you’ll recognize the Featherington family home! Primarily used for exterior shots of the front door and surrounding facade, the production team also used the Crescent side of the building and the Royal Crescent itself for filming external shots of extras, including horses and carriages. For a full list, Visit Britain has put together a fantastic compilation of sites to see.

Back near London, an admission ticket to the very opulent Hampton Court Place, the on-screen home of Queen Charlotte, will grant fans access to familiar locations like Master Carpenter's Court, Fountain Court, Clock Court, Base Court, the King's Stairs and the Gardens.
Downton Abbey

Highclere Castle serves as the primary location for the Crawley family and as Downton Abbey itself - the stuff made of dreams! Blenheim Palace is the largest privately owned house in England and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, meaning it shares its status with such wonders as the Pyramids of Egypt and Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The stately beauty is also the perfect setting for the beloved British drama Downton Abbey, which was used to represent the home of Isobel Crawley, the Downton Cottage Hospital and the village church. Thirty minutes southwest of the palace is Bampton, a beautiful village where fans can explore significant streets and buildings used for filming, especially on “The Downton Mile”! Did you know that the kitchen scenes are all filmed at a completely separate location at Ealing Studios in London? That’s right! Though the showrunners made it seamlessly appear as though upstairs and downstairs activities took place on the same set, they were truly hundreds of miles apart!
The Holiday
If it’s Christmastime, you know we are putting on The Holiday! The 2006 rom-com follows the story of a British woman (Kate Winselt) and American (Cameron Diaz) who swap homes after bad breakups. The British portion of the delightfully cozy film is set among the enchanting cobblestone streets of Shere and Godalming in Surrey. Fans can grab a bevvy at White Horse pub in Shere, a 15th century farmhouse were much of the filming took place, and visit Honeysuckle Cottage in the small village of Holmbury St. Mary which served as inspiration for the film’s quintessentially English Rosehill Cottage.
Harry Potter
Are you a wizardly enchanted fan of the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione? J.K. Rowling’s eight part book-turned-movie franchise Harry Potter was filmed in some of the most whimsical places th U.K has to offer. Here are the top 3 spots we think Potterheads need to see!
